Syracuse FC announced Monday that it has signed Moulid Somow and Ma’Cain Spragling to its inaugural team.

5’8” midfielder Somow played for Herkimer College for two years, where he led the team in assists his freshman year. He helped take the Generals to the National tournament semi-finals in his first year and quarter-finals in his second, and won All-Conference and All-Region honors. He went on to American International College in Springfield, MA. A native of Kenya, Somow moved to the U.S. in 2006 and played soccer for Proctor HS in Utica.

5’7” midfielder Spragling started as a forward for SUNY Cortland last fall, helping the Red Dragons to a 19-3 record and a trip to the Sweet 16. He transferred to Cortland from Onondaga Community College, where he was captain of his 2015 team and led the Lazers in scoring, earning all conference honors. Spragling was born in Akron, OH and grew up in Cleveland. He began his soccer career playing for Brush HS and the Cleveland Internationals Academy.

Additional player signings will be announced throughout the coming days as Syracuse FC continues to develop its inaugural roster. The team’s first ever game, against NPSL defending champions AFC Cleveland, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 at OCC’s David W. Murphy Field.
