Syracuse FC Signs Slavisa Ubiparipovic

April 27, 2017

Syracuse FC announced Thursday that it has signed Slavisa Ubiparipovic to its inaugural team.

Ubiparipovic signed with the Syracuse Silver Knights in 2011, where he was named a Player of the Month and Rookie of the Year during his first year in the league. A leading scorer with the Silver Knights, he was also among the MASL leaders in assists for the 2016-17 season.

The 5’11” forward began his soccer career in his native Bosnia and came to the U.S. in 1999. He was named Ohio State Player of the Year during his senior year in high school in Mentor, OH, and broke the school’s all-time points record. He went on to play for Xavier University, where he was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. He then played for Cleveland State University, where he was named first-team All-Horizon League and NCAA Div I All-Ohio first team.

Additional player signings will be announced throughout the coming weeks as Syracuse FC continues to develop its inaugural roster. Syracuse FC season tickets are available at syracusefcshop.net/2017-season-tickets. Syracuse FC merchandise is available for purchase at SyracuseFCshop.net.
