Syracuse FC Signs Bo Jelovac to Inaugural Team

May 12, 2017

Syracuse FC announced Friday that it has signed Bozidar Jelovac to its inaugural team.

The 6’3” forward signed with the Syracuse Silver Knights in 2012 and has been a team captain since 2015. He received the Silver Knights Unsung Hero award in 2014, earned All-MISL Second team of the year in the 2013-14 season, and has made the MISL and MASL team of the week numerous times.

Prior to joining the Silver Knights, Jelovac played for the University at Albany for four years, where he was co-captain and MVP of the team. Jelovac led the Great Danes in scoring and was named to the America East All-Conference Men’s Soccer Second Team in 2010.

After graduating, Jelovac went to Europe to play professionally in the Czech Republic and his native Serbia for two years, before returning to the U.S. in 2012.

Additional player signings will be announced in the coming days as Syracuse FC continues to develop its inaugural roster. The team’s first ever game, against NPSL defending champions AFC Cleveland, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 at OCC’s David W. Murphy Field.
